Can you recommend a flat that has near spike-like fit and weight, but not as hard on the legs for distance races on the track?
thnx

Too, what do you think about using a spike-less XC shoe on the track?
I used to use the Nike Zoom XC 2. It was great for the 3200 on asphalt tracks when you are slow. They have stopped making it, but the Zoom XC 3 uses the Mamba upper, so that should have a spike like fit. I think its less than 6oz too, so its pretty light (and cheap too).
RC5000 by NewBalance. 3.2oz.
Thanks for both suggestions.
Is the RC 5000 actually sold anywhere?
Other ideas, friends?
Wave Universe?
I hear the feel is like a flat but it's weight seems to be firmly in the spike category.

As far as I can tell, these are not presently made, unless you know of a source I didn't find.
