Anybody else find Saucony Progrid Mirages to wear quickly? Has anybody wearing these shoes dealt with top of foot pain? Are there any good substitutes for these shoes besides the ridiculously priced brooks pure cadence?

I have about 200 miles on mine so it's too early to tell. What do you consider "wear quickly"? No top of foot pain.
I'm considering checking out a pair of Mirages, local store doesn't carry them. Do they have the soft cushy feel similar to the Kinvara or is the cushioning a firmer more responsive feel?
Thanks.
Still very soft feeling and I would go for something else

They feel firmer than the Kinvara to me.
They are much firmer than Kinvara. I compare them to the Nike Skylon in feel.
I am on my second pair. I generally like these shoes, but the fit around the ankle is not great for me. I notice relatively rapid wear on the outside of the heel, and I wonder if that is due to posting. These are considered support shoes.
Do you necessarily need a support shoe? Others have been making comparisons to the Saucony Kinvara. The Brooks Pure Connect is comparable to the Kinvara and getting good reviews, and is $30 less than the Pure Cadence.
I've run in 3 pairs of kinvara, and am currently 400 miles into my pair of mirages. they are definitely firmer/more responsive than the kinvara (why I switched over). they are marketed as a "guidance" shoe which means they have a little bit of support, but it's so minimal that I don't think it actually does anything (it's not the denser foam you see in stability shoes, but this little rod on the side/bottom). I'm a neutral runner and have had no problems with it.
