made a thread before but it got ignored. so basically heres the deal...
i havent run seriously in 7 years, but have been powerlifting. im 5'9" 172 lbs. started running 4 weeks ago switchin between vibram five fingers and ouma h streets. i have very flat feet (although i ran high miles in hs in flats no problem), but recently as of 2 days ago developed pain on the inside part of my right ankle, which i assume is from a combination of being heavier, tendons/ligaments not being as supportive due to lack of running, and that i have flat feet and definitely overpronate. it is enough pain to know i shouldnt be running on it. so im on the fence about beung fitted at a running store for actual trainers, in fear they will throw me into a huge motion control shoe with orthotics etc. i dont wana go that path and feel certain its not necessary, but i also dont want this pain to totally sideline my excitement for getting back into running. so what might be a decent priced/effective shoe for someone a little heavier looking to get back into it as injury free as possible? if it helps im a midfoot-frefoot striker.
