I was curious about how they'd feel so I went to a Skechers store to try them on but they didn't have them there. They're doing a real fine job of getting their product out there.
Must be taking lessons from Apple.
Has anyone given these shoes a go?
I have a pair of the GOruns that I got from the online Skechers store out of curiosity. Not a bad shoe at all. One intrresting thing Skechers did is they built the back of the heel and the forefoot at like 14mm and the middle of the shoe is 19mm which makes you invariably strike your mid foot. Some might not like it but it\\\'s interesting and a new design concept. One of the free v2.0 (the most minimalist version of the frees?) was part of the project group, so the shoes have a similar upper to the frees, being very strechy and super comfortable. Also the tongue of the shoe is sewn into the shoe and is made of thin memory foam. Is also very flexible
TL;DR - very solid shoe, though a little strange as the mid foot is 19mm versus the heel and forefoot being 14mm. Very comfortable and soft/incredibly flexible.
i dont know how i'd feel about having the mid-portion of the shoe raised higher than everything else. essentially, the shoe is even in terms of heel to toe ratios but the whole raised mid portion seems like it would throw things out of wack. ya, it may seem good for a while, but isnt raising that area essentially acting like a medial post or a form of arch support, which seems like it might make striking on the midfoot iffy after a while? it seems like it would be the equivalent of running with a pad in the middle of your foot in an otherwise even shoe, which just strikes me as odd.
still would like to try them on for at least a test run in the store but i dont think i'll train or race in them until i've heard more feedback regarding how the middle section affects people (if at all)
I have put about 150mi on mine. Seriously, they're already my favorite trainers I've ever had. However, they are not very durable at all. They're very comfortable if you like the built-in arch and minimal heel. pretty roomy in the fore-foot. A great start from skechers but ugly as hell and not durable compared to other shoes.
