What are you Bandito fans finding as a similar fit/feel? Stability is not a concern, I never found the Bandito to have much anyway. Thanks for any suggestions.

brooks adrenaline
Thanks, are they reasonably flexible?
Asics Tarther. Almost exactly the same fit.
You guys are all retarded. The DS Racer 8 is the replacement for the Bandito. It's pretty much the same shoe.
The bandito is the ds racer. They used the ds racer name for the first 7 or so and then they changed it to the bandito, but have now changed the name back. The asics rep came to the running store I work at and mentioned that.
I have a pair of Banditos, size 11, worn twice. If interested, make me an offer. Also, Hyperspeed 2s, size 10 1/2, worn three times. Both in great condition, light dirt on the soles. Be glad to sell them. Just shoot me an email with an offer. (I stopped racing so I don't need them. Otherwise I feel they are excellent shoes)
I don't know if you were a Bandito fan or not. Technically the information you gave is correct the DS Racer 8 is supposed to be the follow up shoe for the Bandito. But having run many miles in the Bandito, I can tell you, these are two different shoes. The toe box of the DS Racer is wider and I think the shoe is actually a little wider, at least from my perspective. I do however run in them, but prefer the Hyperspeed to the DS Racer. I have also liked the Tarther, but the most recent pair I bought seem to be a little sloppy in fit. Not sure why or if it is just me. The Bandito gave a nice snug fit, was light, responsive and if needed you had some support. I wish they would simply bring that shoe back.

I bought a pair of DS Racers thinking as you do. As ScottDye says though, they're 2 different shoes when you actually run in them. The only real difference (visually) between them is the rock hard heel counter in the DS, but they don't feel like the same shoe at all. The DS feels more like the Tarther to me. The Bandito feels like the old Ohana.

And right you are. The original DS Racer was the successor to the Ohana, then the Bandito, and now the DS Racer 8. I totally agree regarding the comparison to the Tarther, both seem to be loose and sloppy in the mid foot. No longer the nice snug fit of the Bandito.
