I traditionally wore shoes with some medial post. Over the past couple years, I've taken a liking to training in a lighter shoe (NB 905, Mizuno Wave Elixir).
I still rotate here and there, but I've now found I'm able to run in more minimal shoes (old NB 790s), even on roads. I run trails a lot, too, and swapped my Cascadias for NB101s.
I am training for a marathon this winter/spring, and I'm looking for a very light road shoe to do much of my training in without beating my body up. Do folks recommend something more robust, like a DS Trainer? Or could I go for something neutral like Kinvaras?
