Huh, nothing in there about him leaving Salazar. Strange.

that's because he isn't
From what I read, sounds like he's been running for a while now. He wore that vacuum boot thing for a few months, then his wound healed. Now it sounds like he's getting ready for his marathon now. Hopefully he isn't too far behind, but he mentioned something about getting a good base in before his training cycle started.
I hope ritz has plans on the 5 or 10k, because it doesnt sound like he'll be ready in january
Ritz will be our top marathon finisher at the olympics. He finished/overachieved to 9th in '08, off pure guts. And if somehow, health forces him to run the 10K instead, he'll be our top finisher there too.
Since AlSal has been pretty mum about Ritz and hasn't been "talking him up" especially with the Olympics being less than a year away, I can only assume "something" is up. His silence is deafening. When things are going good for his stable of runners, AlSal is on this site almost weekly, like when Webb first joined, Mo and Rupp's build up for the WC, etc. But when something is up (runner leaving the group), silence...
As for Ritz, the best of luck for him. Having had to use a Wound Vac myself, it usually leaves quite a bit of scar tissue, hopefully it won't affect his training.
Huge Ritz fan. Saw him his senior year smoke everyone at state xc. Man I hope he gets it goin again.
Serving a drug ban "Kenenisa" style.
From what little he says in the video it sounds like he has been training for a while. 14 weeks to the marathon trials, if he's at 100% now and can train uninterrupted until the trials he will make the team....of course those are big "ifs".
