It depends what type of runner you are. I'm not a fan of high stability but I do like a neutral shoe with decent support in the mid-foot and front of the shoe. I feel like it gives me a more natural stride and helps prevent heel-striking when I become tired and my form breaks a little. Right now I've been running in the Ghost 4's (Brooks). I like them because they hold up well on trails but are still minimalist enough to feel fast on the road with.
Again, this will also depend on your weight preference with shoes. Some people insist on running in next to nothing (even for longer/easy runs). I like having a slightly heavier trainer so when I race I can look forward to putting on something light that makes my foot feel naked. I only wear the flats/spikes for intervals/reps.
