I'll bite, i don't know New Balance's shoes, so bare with me.
Shoes I use (in order of protection):
-Nike 7.0 (a thicker shoe than nike free for comparison. Used for long runs)
-Nike free 5.0 (more flexible than typical trainer, but plenty of padding still. Used for warm ups+cool downs, and easy runs. Bulk of mileage is done in these)
-Nike Lunar Racer 2's (Road flat, pretty squishy in my opinion. Only good for the road. Given to me by a friend for free. Used for thresholds/tempo runs where i'm going faster than 6:30 on down to 5:00 per mile)
-Nike Streak XC 2 (A cross country flat. Nice solid shoe, only problem is the upper seems a little fragile. Other than that cant go wrong with this shoe. Used for any repeats on grass, or the first half of intervals on a track)
-Nike Victory XC (Nike's top XC spike. Light, aggressive with 6 spikes and durable. These are tanks. Used for intervals on grass or cross country races)
-Nike Matumbo (Famous nike track spike. Used for second half of long intervals [1000m-2000m]. Plenty of comfort/more padding than a traditional spike while still being light).
-Nike Victory (Famous Nike track spike. Used for second half of shorter repeats [800m-200m])
-Nike Superfly (Nike sprint spike. Rigid plate, aggresive with 8 pins. Used for 30m flys to occasionally 200ms if i'm trying to break out the wheels. Also used for the 400 when i'm put in the schools 4x400m relay)
