Nip guards of some sort would be critical.
gloves and either a t-shirt or longsleeve. Maybe bring polypro, something that wicks away the moisture but also has decent insulation. Glop on bag balm or vaseline onto your arms and legs (thighs and calve in particular). That keeps off the chill.
You don't need gloves. Some tights and a short T. You can wear arm sleeves if you like, but at only 8K, you aren't likely to get very cold. Keep it minimal and run fast.
Less clothing = less to get wet. Slap on the vaseline as needed.
mN is right. It is important to have warm, dry clothes to put on when you finish.
Agreed that you don't need much clothing at 40 degrees, stay away from cotton obviously.
