Just wait for all the insecure losers to gleefully tell you how wrong you are and how much Rupp sucks.
He does a LOT better in cooler conditions. He was raised in the Pacific Northwest after all.
I don't see what the big deal is..he was only 1 second behind Kipchoge (a 12:46 guy).
Rupp's family has shown up on the boards this afternoon. Go team Rupp! lol

He's struggled with his finish in Daegu, but his race in Birmingham, and the fact that he was in the mix in the WC 5 and 10 show his steady improvement.
Bronze in the marathon.
Rupp doesn't suck, but he isn't a year away from placing at the Olympics. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it happening.

You mean Solinsky to medal in London 2012?
Silver in the RW.
Now it's looking more likely!
Rupp has just proved that it is possible to keep up with the East African's. ok he got outsprinted but 5 years ago any American or European would have been lapped in that race.
It's been a long time coming but he's just proved how talented he is.
Hats off to Rupp and AlSal for a great year... Now back to work to figure out how to WIN races! What do we need to do in order to close and not lose contact over the last 1k...????
He should improve his 1500. His PB is still 3:39. Bekele has 3:32.

Minor correction, but it really is the last 400m not 1k.

Almost lapped, at least.
Rupp now has a faster 10,000m PR than Imane Merga, reigning world cross country champion, and Eliud Kipchoge, among other big names. And running within five seconds of Bekele in a fast 10,000m is huge.
Maybe. But I think its a bridge too far. 2016 on the other hand could be a different story. We tend to forget with the "22" year old Jailen and the "17" year old Koech that its pretty well established that the prime age of a 10000M runner is around 28-30. Rupp is 25 now. If he keeps on staying healthy and gradually improving each successive year, he could be a real force in 2016. He could basically be where Farah was at this year.

He'll double bronze: 5000 & 10000.... Maybe the 30k speed walk as well
That still does not dismiss the fact that Princess Diana died while speeding in a Mercedes-Benz and working feverishly on the sausage of her Semitic Arab Muslim boyfriend.
No Medals No Matter

I'm sure Bekele and Rotich are scared to death.
All the bullshit on a message board doesn't mean anything. You have to win it on the track. In Brussels, Rupp faced few of the faces that blew his doors off in Deagu. No Farah, no Jeilan, no Merga, no Tadesse...and, still, he finished third. And now, you can add a returned Bekele to the equation.
I predict that next year Uceny will have a gold to go with her DL jackpot--no BS needed, here, as she actually won something--and the Rupp fans will still be making the same wait-till-next-year excuses.
Do it on the track, THEN talk about it.

I'm sorry. What am I missing here? I thought the headline said that Rupp shattered the AR. Excuses for what?
I'm not an educated man, so I need help here: What the word for much-more-than-shattered? Apparently that's what's needed here in order to impress you.
