Most likely in the 10k, and most likely a bronze behind Farah and Bekele

Second prediction: People will still give him a hard time.
ya right.
There are atleast 4 kenyans who want it more than the ruppster.
Hmm, you think he'll get a finisher medal? I guess he might make it all the way to the end of the race.

They don't give out medals for how bad you want it.

Yes they do. The runners who get 1st-3rd are the runners who want it more. The other runners didn't care enough. It's a Championship Race. Most of the runners in the race can hang with the pace for majority of the race. Those that give up, don't get a medal. Those who have heart and want it more will be National Heroes.
I predict that Bekelo will outkick Mo Ferrari coming off the
bend down the home stretch.
I can't wait to see an American win a medal in any distance event but not that fast Fred, Rupp will never win a medal at that level, or at any important stage. He might do well in USA meets (local) but not at the international level. The kid obviously has improved but not to that level yet. I have seen him run a couple of times and is too timid; he does not run like he really wants it and is ready to fight it out right from the set GO!! Too much science but not fearless

He outkicked a guy earlier this year who is the World XC Champion and a 12:54/26:48 guy. He's a contender, especially if Bekele the elder doesn't race.
I put him at 3rd behind Farah and Bekele for the 10000 in the contest, but I still somewhat doubt that it will happen.
And with a new AR.
The only way Rupp gets a medal is if he snatches it off somebody's neck.
Anyone know what the pollen count is supposed to be?
I guess he will have to fight to make it to the second podium: 4th, 5th or 6th. These races are incredible competitive.
And he would do better if he would not double but solely run in the 5k.
Yes he will return with a medal! He will sneak it out of the little Kenyan gals purse while she is enjoying the mask in her ------. Go Rupp! You da man!!
A medal is a medal!! Lots of ways to earn a medal!
Suddenly, things are not looking up for US distance runners. The 1500 looks to be our best event now. All are long distance guys are either pulling up lame or choking on pollen.
Pre would laugh at these guys. Some of the current crop of US distance runners have even more talent than Pre, but they don't have the guts.
I would be thrilled if he makes the finals. The chances are remote of getting a medal. Still, we are much better than the current crop of British born distance runners. I not even aware of one that can break 13:20 for the 5k/
yes you are right but I did not say that he might not have the potential to do it but he is not at that level yet. YOu can have a good race here and there but in order to be among the top you have to show that consistently and he hasn't. Also the guy who he "outkicked" earlier (the worlds cross country championship, a month earlier just finished a season (cross country) so he was peaked already and not he was trying to come back (very quickly may I say0to outdoor track in four weeks!! (quick transition) so he was not really fully ready to take the young Lad Rupp. I like Rupp but so ar not there yet. He will come in around 7th or 8th.

This type of prediction is best made when keeping your pants on. Otherwise, you'll exaggerate your predictions.
Farah is going to win two medals and let Rupp wear one on the plane ride back to Oregon.
