I've been searching for the racing flat, Nike Lunar Spider. Runningwarehouse does not have a 9.0 (US) and is not sure when stock will be in. Anyone know where to purchase these shoes?

What did you think of this shoe? I'm looking for a marathon shoe and between the Lunar Spider R2, Mayfly, and the rereleased Lunaracer 1. I'm an efficient forefoot striker and looking to get under 2:40 so the lower weight will help. I also want some resiliency in the shoe.

I have two pair, one with the lunar midsole and one with the cushlom (phylon) midsole. Not enough cushioning for anything over a half marathon, in my opinion.
Boomer - Lunar Spider R2 and Lunaracer 1 are at different ends of the spectrum and are quite different.
L Spider R2 is super minimal with a very thin midsole (approximately half of Lunaracer 1), a 4mm heel-forefoot differential, and a weight at around 5-ish oz. Unless you are used to long runs in this type of shoe, it's likely to beat you up over 26.2 miles. Few Nike elite athletes outside of Japan run in this baby for the marathon. It's better for HM and below.
Lunaracer 1 is going to give you more foam underfoot, a much softer ride, and about a 9mm differential. Weight is around 6.7oz for a size 9. Several Nike Elite athletes choose to run in this model.
If you are looking for another option that has similar stats to Lunaracer 1 but a firm/responsive ride; consider Zoom Streak 3. This is the go-to Marathon shoe for most Nike Elite athletes. It's slightly heavier than LR1 but has a very snappy midsole that gives you the sensation that it's doing some of the work for you.
