What will ya'll be wearing this fall for cross country races?
What will ya'll be wearing this fall for cross country races?
matumbos
Either the victory xc's or matumbos.
forever xc 2's, i'm pretty sure
It's been a couple years since high school, but I have stayed in good shape and am transferring to a college I can run cross country again.
It seems a lot of people use track spikes for XC. I get spikes for almost free from my school, and I was thinking about getting the Japan Thunder 3. Are there certain track spikes you shouldn't use for XC, or will pretty much any track spike work on a mostly grass course?
I have older, still good condition, traditional rubber XC spikes if I run a course that is rocky or has pavement, but I'd really like some light weight, like less than 6oz spikes to use for xc. The Zoom Victories XC has a high arch that I don't like, but other than that, only track spikes seem like a good option as far as weight.
I prefer track spikes that are less aggressive and have less plastic on the bottom. The matumbos don't have too much plastic and are less aggressive than a shoe like the victories. Other good track spikes for XC are the mambas. I think the Japan Thunder 3s should be okay.
I don't understand any reason why you would use real XC spikes, because the only advantage XC spikes have over track spikes are that they are more durable, and it sounds like you can get replacement track spikes cheap if your current ones wear out.
saucony kilkennys
No spikes for me, will be in my second season in the Inov-8 shoes

Spikes are for close minded fools.
Sacony Shay XC2. they are only 30$ on eastbay, plus there is a 20% discount. They run a little small/tight, FYI.
So you are trying to promote inov8 shoes by insulting spike wearers? Great approach.
streak xc 2's. American xc courses are weak and you don't need spikes on most of them.
Puma Haraka! Crossfox is badass too but I'm cheap.

This. They are damn comfy, but the mylar insert things hurt if you use them.
