I just ordered the New Balance 1400 today!!! They look like they are going to be a sick racing flat. Anyone try them yet? No stores had them yet by me so I havn't tried them on but I do train in NB. So "fingers crossed"

Yesterday I got these in the UF colorway and ran around downtown a bit.
Crossed paths with one of those hipster bicycle convoys and had to kick in a little NOS to head them off at the pass. One of them yelled that I had a death wish because I sprinted through heavy traffic and cut past them by a few milliseconds. Another yelled "NICE SHOES!" So I gave him the elbows up and kept on clicking off the miles like it was nothing (Because it is!).
So, these are awesome shoes.
Would you say that they are narrower than most shoes?
A bit more narrow right behind my feets' balls. Right at the start of the arch. Made the mistake of going the first mile or so sockless and got a hot spot on my right foot where I always get them in new shoes on the first run. In that spot I just mentioned. Threw on some socks and it was ok, but I still got a nice blister. This is a mistake I make with every pair of shoes I get. I think it's become a new-shoe ritual.
The fit is really good and the shoes are light and fast. Good fit in the heel and the toe box is perfect. I have been running in Lunar Racers for awhile. The fit is similar, but the 1400 is so much better in the toebox. Not crazy roomy. Just roomy enough. I could go on but I won't.
I recommend them after just this one run. Might be perfect.

I have them and really like them. I think they are about average. I had the lunar racers and those things are narrow...
