Who uses the mambas for xc? I have to chose between the mambas in orange or the victory xcs in purple. My schools rival is purple, so I would prefer to use the mambas this year instead of the victory xc. Any advice?

Last year for XC I used matumbos and I probably will again this year. The matumbo is very similar to the mamba in the way that they are both long distance track spikes. I actually like track spikes more for XC than XC spikes because they are lighter and you don't need too much durability if you are planning to use them for only one season.
Thanks for the reply. I used the victory xcs last year for xc, and the victories for track. A good friend of mine gave me matumbos because he ordered them too small from a website which you cannot return the item, so I will prob end up using those. But keep posting, I may change my mind! :D
i used nike victory track spikes for a 10k xc race at last december's club nationals in charlotte. worked great, but i'm an extreme supernater, so the heel on the other nike spikes may be necessary for some. as previously posted, they probably won't hold up for more than a few x-c races, but they should work fine...
Several people on my XC team in college (including myself) use the Mambas during cross. Nobody ever seemed to have a problem with the durability. They all lasted through the entire cross season and were still in good enough shape to be used during track. Personally I think that the upper on the Victory/Victory xcs/Matumbos is horribly uncomfortable compared to the Mambas, and that's why I use them.
