So the Brooks rep for the store I work at set up this thing that if a we could sell 30 pairs as an individual salesperson, we could get a free pair of brooks. Selling the green silence counted as selling 3 pairs of shoes. I train in asics, so I decided to grab the Green Silence. I'd always thought of it as a really gimmicky shoe that didn't really match up to the other lightweight trainers like the kinvara, etc. But after wearing them around and going to the track with them I think they're a fantastic shoe that performs well and is as comfy as the nike free.
I think that brooks shot themselves in the foot by naming it the green silence because it really directs all of the attention to the "green" part of it and not the shoe itself. I figure they couldve just put a big ole explanation of the box or something and called it the brooks blazer or monsoon or some running shoe name like that.
Anyway, just wanted to give props the the Green Silence, the shoe that we all look at, but never put on.
