I picked the heat to win in 5. Huge props to Dallas. Kidd, nowitski, terry and marion all deserve this.

Lebron who?
Awesome. Somehow I knew the mavs were going to win. They just showed more heart throughout the series. Great job and congratulations Mavs.

Lebron James is the best player in the world. That being said, congrats to the Mavs, particularly the Cubes. Glad to see him finally getting the Ship after years of tremendous ownership skill.

Umm what? The best player in the world? More like best magician in the world with that disappearing act he kept showing in the 4th quarter. Seriously though, yea he's a good player, but let's stop glorifying "king" james until he can prove he's a winner when it counts, in the finals.
I'll end on a positive though, congrats mavs, dirk and kidd for finally getting your title.
Lebron is the most hyped player in the world. Dirk is a better player.
So much for the beginning of their "dynasty."

Anyone disputing Lebron as best in the world is simply not a basketball fan. Nobody can match his skill set, regardless of his Finals performance. I'm not even a Lebron/Heat booster, I simply know basketball the sport.
As you can see from my post's second half, I'm very happy the Mavs won. It was a long time coming for them.
Is it me or did a team with a white boy as the star player just with the NBA title?!
Hate Mavs, Mark cuban is evil, Dick sucks, Lebron is the KING

Potential. LeBron has potential. And he is a physical freak. But there are so, so many holes in his game (can't post up, not a great handle, disappears late in big games...). He may turn in to one of the best, but at the moment, he needs to get humble and start working on getting better.
Lebron is the most over rated player in the world, because the sports media has become a bunch of clowns that pander to the lowest of the low in America.

.... and LeBron has absolutely no idea how to play without the ball.

Every player has holes in their game. But he's the number one player anyone with half a basketball brain would build their team around. His defense is tremendous, and it never disappears. I agree with your thoughts on his post game. His biggest problem in the Finals was timidity. He needs to be the leader of the Heat, not Wade. Lebron certainly has the prowess to take over games, he has yet to harness it though. He needs to look for his scoring opportunity before he looks to pass. That's how he'll become not just the current greatest, but perhaps the greatest ever.

Any player right now? Hands down Kevin Durant will leave Lebron in his dust.

Come on, seriously? No defense at all in Durant's game. Yeah, he's a tremendous scorer, but that's about it. No defense, poor rebounding for a 6-11 guy, not a good passer/poor court vision. You're BBall IQ is lacking with your choice.

Well, if you know the sport as well as you claim you should realize that it takes more that a superb "skill set" to make a great player.
It also requires the ability to play your best when the stakes are highest, to inspire and motivate your teammates to play their best, and to have unshakable confidence in your ability to take control of a game.
Jordan had some off nights offensively (not many), but he was always a dominating presence at both ends of the court.
Here's a thought...
What if Lebron NEVER wins a title? The guy has been in the league for 8 years....8 years!!! I don't care if he's only 26, he's still spent 8 years playing a very physical style at a very physical position.
MJ is still the King.

Read a later post I wrote. Basically, I agree with you to a large extent. I said Lebron's biggest weakness in the Finals was not being willing to take control. He was playing too timid, as second-fiddle to Wade. Lebron's skill-set makes him the best player in the world, flat out. Once (if) he fully harnesses his talent and realizes he NEEDS to be the number one factor on the court every night, he will become Jordan-esque.

He's been in the league 3-4 years? His defense will get better, he has something in him that Lebron doesn't. What is Lebron going to do to get better over the summer? He can't switch teams again.

His defense probably won't get much better. He just doesn't have the ability to lock down. Lebron was a lock down defender from day one. Also, if you think Lebron doesn't work just as hard or harder than everyone else in the league, you're ignorant. As I said, twice now, Lebron needs a serious mental adjustment to get better. If said adjustment occurs, we'll see something special from him.
