It's not supposed to get warmer than the mid-60's today and there is chance of more thunderstorms. I would guess they don't want to wait until 8:30 and risk running into trouble again.

It appears to be available on NCAA.com @ http://www.ncaa.com/liveschedule/2011/06/10 - it now says it is available at 3:30 pm where as 4 hours ago it said 7:30 pm.
I heard that the 5:00 EST start time for the 10K has been waived do to the possibility of lightening, can anyone confirm?
It's now listed to start "after 5:30 PM"!

They just announced that it will be at 5:30 Central time.
they just announced why the race is after 5:30, because of lighting in the area....announcing again as I type this...5:30 sharp is the lastest call
