Depending on what kind of shape Rupp is in, I think Solinsky's record is toast
Rupp and Roll ain't noise pollution!
Rupp and Roll ain't noise pollution
This is great news; if run is in the shape (or better!) that we saw him in earlier this year, we might see something really magical happen.
Now, the only thing that would make this better would be if Solinsky followed message board stereotyping and jumped into the race now.

Isn't this kind of a stupid statement? I mean if I were running it you could say the same thing: "well, depending on what kind of shape he is in Solinsky's record could be toast." Unfortunately I am only in 3430 shape so Solinsky has nothing to worry about...for now...

Rupp is a professional runner and 11 seconds off Solinsky's record. You are not. It would make no sense for me to say that about you. So no, that was not "kind of a stupid statement."

Yeah you are right, it was not kind of a stupid statement, it was a really stupid statement.
Yes, something magical, like Peter Pan...
If Rupp even comes close to record I'll eat my hat.
I'm guessing that my hat is quite safe.

Nice rebuttal
Define "close." Do you think he won't be under 27:15? If so, I might be willing to bet (assuming he runs the 10,000 at all).

Depending on what kind of shape Rupp is in, I think Bekele's record is toast. IF Rupp is in 26:16 shape, and IF the race unfolds perfectly for him, then I think Bekele's record is toast. Must suck to be Bekele, knowing that depending on what kind of shape a Breath Right Nasal Strip-wearing, possibly masked man is in, his world record is toast...

No moron, Rupp is within the range of running 26:58 or faster. He was planning on running a 10k in NZ during the winter to take a shot at the record but the earthquake foiled that. I never said he would run a world record. "Depending on what kind of shape he is in" means if he is in the kind of form he has shown within the past few months, I think he could do it. Sorry if that was too much for your wee mind to comprehend.

Well these are two very different statements you have here, and they most certainly do not mean the same thing.
No, "depending on what kind of shape he is in," does NOT mean "the kind of form he has shown within the past few months," and IF you fail to comprehend this, you are the MORON.
Let me illustrate: Depending on what kind of shape your brain is in, you'll be able to comprehend the above...this does NOT mean "the kind of shape your brain has been in the past few months," it means the kind of shape your brain is in now...got it, moron? I didn't think so...

pwnd!! Don't listen to those clowns. Your point was right on the money!
I was assuming the readers of Letsrun had enough common f***ing sense to get that. I see now I grossly overestimated. Chill the f*** out
All hissy fits aside, one thing is abundantly clear...Rupp is a racer!
