Has anyone on here ever worn or tried this shoe? They seem really light and sleek and sexy, but the local running store has a policy of not letting anyone run in racers, flats, spikes, waffles, when they try them on because these shoes are more delicate than trainers or whatever. F*cking stupid. They seem like a great road race shoe, but they do not seem ideal for xc because hey are so flat and lack grip, raction, etc., which is ironic because xc is in the name. What's the deal?
Better grip than you'd think... I wouldn't run through heavy slop in them, but they're nice on well-manicured grass golf courses or on well maintained carriage trails and the like.
Also, that store has a moronic policy. I train mostly in flats and I don't replace them until they tear (which doesn't happen until at least 500 miles in, no less than my normal trainers). The midsole is more delicate, but you're running efficiently in it anyway, so it's not like you're putting undue stress on the shoe. The uppers are the same material as in trainers.
In general, the Streak XC is a nice road flat with some applicability for XC. They're pretty cheap as far as good flats go; give 'em a try, worst case scenario you get something else and use the streaks for workouts.
