I was wondering if I could use track spikes with cross country? I really like these spikes and wanted to use them but am not sure. The spikes are the Asics hyper ld's

I ran in track spikes for every XC race my senior year, great succcess
Heel is usually non-existant on track spikes - for me I think it'd be tough to stay up on my toes for an entire XC race. Who knows? Try it out.

no, you must use the spikes exactly for their specified purpose or they fail to be of use
I recommend it, especially for shorter cross races (5k). I liked the steeple spikes (Lanangs and Mamba). Matumbos are probably better for 10k cross races but I always like the better toe support of the steeple spikes. You could even get away with some miler spikes in the shorter races. Cross spikes are often heavier with the added support, which I didn't feel was necessary.
Track spikes work very well on grass. If you run a lot of rocky courses you may find that the hard plastic spike plate on some track spikes annoys you.
The plastic plate can also be slippery on wet/damp grass so the climate you are in can play a major factor.
