And both Loxsom and Primm fail to qualify. what a strange race.
I know it was awesome to watch.
BRING MARTIN SMITH BACK TO OREGON!
I mean did he fall??? and Fleet 4:08??? WTF!!! is oregon going down???LOL
I believe that most people had the projected order of finish as Primm, Loxom and Greer. This race points out a major flaw in Indoor racing...if you get boxed out in a 400 or 800 meter race, you are basically screwed due to the high banks and the short straightaways, not to mention the narrow 4-lane track.
UO/VIN ain't no Johnny Mac, that's what's going on. No matter how bad he wants to dominate like that, he NEVER will!!! Burn.
My brother told me before the race started that the talk in College Station was that Greer was sick. A guy emailed us to say that someone said on the Track and Field News messageboard that Greer was vomiting all day and had left the building before the DMR:

None of the three was ever "boxed out". Greer started at the back and stayed there. Primm was leading, and on the outside, with 200 to go and folded. Loxsom was in perfect position with 60 to go and got passed by two guys.
looks like Oregon's guys came down with something?
Didn't that happen to g'town or w&m one year too?
No, I don't think so. Gree, I beleive, was the only Oregon guy who was really sick. Fleet is apparently still being affected by that foot problem from last year and Luke Puskedra came up with a sore calf this week and just couldn't go with the leaders in the 5K. Centro is fine, but had his shoe ripped off his foot at the exchange in the DMR and took him out of the race. He did fine (4th or 5th) in the 3K.
wow those are really good excuses they should give oregon men the title too

Nobody is saying that f***face. Oregon had a bad meet, some of their guys weren't 100% healthy, thats how it goes sometimes. Why the snarkiness?
I don't think the guy is making any excuses. Hell, he's probably feeling pretty good about all the Oregon kids who did so well. Their women dominated the weekend and they had some guys show really well. Their freshman 400 meter guy, Mike Berry, is the future and their Decathlete had a huge PR to score pts there and go along with Centrowitz' strong effort in the 3K. I agree with the other poster, why so snarkie?

Lets see, you do not have it to make the mile final and you have a DMR leg to run in a little bit; obviously the optimal strategy is to work as hard as you can so that you run a 4:02 in the Mile heat so that the LetsRun posters think you are smart. Get a clue, people.
Also, of course, Greer was sick and the shoe/baton problem took Oregon out of the DMR. Without Greer in the DMR in the first place, they were not nearly the team that had a nice Q time advantage.
