I've been running in the Kilkenny XC flats (technically called the Grid X2, I think) for pretty much all of my non-spike-requiring running since 2007 or so. I love these things. I finally bought a couple of pairs of the Grid X3s off Eastbay (the X2s were discontinued during summer 2009, but I have quite a few pairs lying around), and, wow, they definitely changed the sizing on these suckers. I'm sending them back to go up another half-size. Any other Kilkenny fans out there notice a sizing change from the now defunct X2s to the current X3s? Did folks notice any other changes? I haven't worn the X3s out for a true run yet, but it's clear I'd have some problems running in the newer model with my current sizing.
(I'm obviously aware of the whole "you need to go up a half-size or a full-size for flats" deal. When I used to wear traditional trainers, I was always a size 11.5, but when I eventually went the flats-only route, I did all my training and racing in size 12 Nike Waffle Racer XCs (model II, I believe?), but the powers that be ruined that line with all the changes made in the model that followed. When I replaced the Waffle Racers with the Kilkennys, the latter seemed to be more in line with "normal" sizing and the 11.5s worked exceptionally well for everyday training and races from 5K to the marathon. I guess it's time to move back up to the 12s.)
