so im trying to find a good spike for steeplchase this spring and my 3 options are matumbo (cause its light and i want to have a quality long distance spike for longer races) mamba (because its designed for steeplchase from what ive heard, drains well and good for middle distance races) and the ventulus (because its also good for long distances, drains well like the lalang, and is light.
what im trying to figure out though, and ive narrowed it down to these two unless i can get a pair of mambas in camo really cheap or just orange, is what is the difference between the ventulus and the matumbo? i know the matumbo is lighter but the ventulus has the draining function. but they both have THE EXACT SAME PLATES on the bottom. whats the deal? and which of the two would be better for steeple? i found a pair of ventulus in my size cheap but theres also a pair of matumbos for like 10$ more. any ideas on what makes one better than the other?
