I mean they have awesome gear and racing shoes, so why are their day to day shoes so bad? They don't last long and their overall quality isn't very good. Thoughts? Opinions?

I recently switched to Nike's Pegasus 28. I like them
I get as many miles out of them as any other shoes and I have real good luck with them.
Vomero's are my favorite trainers. And I've tried about every company out there.
Nike isn't a running shoe company, it's a fad and fashion company. Stick around, one day the marketing whizzes at Nike will say, "wouldn't it be cool if we like came out with serious shoes for serious athletes and then like marketed them, like you can't wear them unless ur like a serious athlete, and then like, people would want to buy them, like, prolly cuz they can like, pose like they r like, hardcore, when they r really like gurl shoes with funny colors and springs in them?"

simple solution: train in their flats. I got 1200mi out of my streak 3s
I think they are just to wide in the toe box. It causes a lot of people to not like them because of the side to side sliding in the shoe. With the LunarGlide, they just tired to make two shoes in one with their Dynamic support. Fail.
I used to think the same way Malmo did.. Then I tried a pair
I'm now on my 14th pair of the Structure Triax, and i'll never switch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What trainers does Malmo wear?

Cute gurl shoes with funny colors and springs in them. Blinking lights too.
malmo, pleaseee show me a pair of voms that look like what you are describing
good racing shoes but sucky trainers? easy solution. train in the racers.
The Nike Skylon is one of my favorite alltime trainers. Pegasus is a classic for a reason. Vomero is a bit heavy for my taste, but has its following. Structure Triax is a stable for people who need stability but want a soft ride. The Lunar shoes have been hit or miss in my opinion, the racers are nice but I'd like to see a neutral shoe in that line lower to the ground for training than the LunarFly but heavier than the Racer.
Nazi Zionism!
I just recently decided to try out the Lunaracer (new version that came out this year that is the same as the original), and I have to say it is probably the most comfortable running shoe I've run in thus far. I really, really like it. Now as far as durability, I'm not sure, we'll see.
I know many people that train in Nike's and have quite a bit of success. Just because they don't last long for you, doesn't mean they don't last long for others. And yes, I know the OP was talking about their 'trainers', there's two people on my team, one trains in the Pegasus, the other in the Triax, they don't seem to replace shoes any more often than anyone else.

This is exactly right. Don't train in high heels.
