dont be a douche.
This week was much better than last week. Not only was he in the race the entire time, but he made a move with 400 to go. Remember, he still had the flu and he's lacking some of the speed he usually has..
Much better performance overall
If I might add on, Tim Nelson won. Chelenga was 4th I think adn a whole group of College runners simply beat Webb to the line. And to Wejo, if another Temp Tantrum happens, I want to hear about it. Would be itneresting. Thanks
what was the winning time? webbs time?
Spelling mistakes! and, interesting.
Winning time was 3 seconds faster than Webb. The time was slow in the 7:40s
10 autos to NCAAs. That's a pretty deep field.
Also, consider the several instances in which Webb went out into lane 3 and got boxed/denied. I saw that happen at least 3 times throughout the race.

Nevermind, Webb only lost by 1.9 seconds and didn't really get owned. I'm probably the worst poster on this site.
Just got back from the race. Webb was never in contention and looked bad all around; his move was over quick and easily countered. I have no idea why AlSal brought him here- this is just gonna crush his ego more...
Hell yah! Good job Webb! Good job to everybody! Exciting day for U.S. Track and Field! =]
^Dude, your starting to really creep me out here.

Webb ran well. 6th in that field is fine. He got outkicked... oh well. His time is worth about a 3:57/13:40... so its not awful. He also ran a tactically AWFUL race. He was either in lane 2 or surging the entire race. Strategically, Fernandez ran a perfect race, and just couldn't hold on.
Bottom line, Webb just lost to a WC 27:mid guy, a indoor WC competitor who is hot right now and who beat him in a mile by a mile last week (and this week was only a second ahead), a collegiate who could very well be a 3:34/35 guy this year and who ran 3:36 2 years ago, and a 27:low guy. Ryan Hill had a great race, but even he is a 13:44 guy.
Webb didn't get beat by world beaters, but he got beat by some very good athletes. And again, it was a tactically bad race and he lost in a kick. On a different day, those results could look much different.
Webb can walk with his head held high after today. It wouldn't surprise me if he could run 7:40 low after a few more races and weeks.
I would have liked to see Webb crush some distance this winter, though, and run cross. Same with Rupp. I think this would have been a better route for their development a year out from the Olympics.
Ten guys within four seconds and 18 sub 8:00: that's a crazy fine field. Props to Centro for a great run.
Nelson looked like he could have gone 10k. Jerry had him ready to kick butt.
"If you can run under 8:00 for 3k indoors, then your training is going well"
- Sebastian Coe
Everyone take a deep breath and relax. Webb is fine. I agree he ran tactically bad, but he stayed in there and gave it what he could at the end. I like that he raced two weeks in a row. He took an entire year off, can't we just chalk these races up to rust busters? Lord knows we'd do it for Goucher.
