marcus dunbar never went sub-4
chris o'hare and terry o'hare scotlands first pairing!!!
Sam Bair went sub 4 last year.
Quite impressive for o'hare to shred 4 minutes like he did. Am I correct that this was his first time under the barrier?
No Terry O'Hare on this list.

I think the only US father and son sub-4 milers are Barry and Darren Brown, Matt and Matthew Centrowicz, and Sam and Sam Bair.

Looks like that list is only counting people who've literally run the mile. Considering O'Hare is Scottish, there's a decent chance the poor guy never ran a mile, or at least not when running for time.
Just speculating.

That's why I bring it up. These discussions invariable ask the question "who has run a sub 4 minute mile" and get answers of "he could have run a sub 4 mile" or "he ran an equivalent 1500 time" or "I heard a rumor that his coach timed him in a time trial at sub 4 for a mile." If the question is sub 4 mile, then the answer has to be sub 4 mile. Verified.
actaully terry is canadian.
These are the only USA father-sons to do it (with their PRs):
3:58.8 Barry Brown
3:58.35 Darren Brown
3:54.94 Matt Centrowitz
3:57.92 Matthew Centrowitz
3:56.7 Sam Bair Jr
3:59.72 Sam Bair III
i'm pretty sure no Brits have managed this
Actually at the bottom of the list of sub-4 milers, they have some fun facts.http://www.trackandfieldnews.com/archive/Sub4-Alpha-Register.pdfThe only other father-son sub-4 listed is Kip and Martin Keino.

Hi guys - sorry to disappoint! I did not run sub 4 minute mile. My chosen sports were soccer (or football as we call it in Scotland but that is another discussion) and Shotokan Karate. So I am delighted to say Chris has done this all on his own.
i must say that we are however so very proud of him. 6th fastest Scot ever over this distance at age 20 suggests there just may be more improvement to come.
Thank you to everyone for showing interest in Chris. I am sure it means a lot to him.

Goddamn it Terry, you better get ur ass to a track and put down four laps in less than four minutes if you want your son to get any more admiration on here.
