I bet Webb was even more pissed a couple days after the mile, when he got back to normal. There always seems to be a couple of days after getting sick when things seem right again but aren't until a couple of days later.
I hope everyone on here who has been ripping letsrun for reporting about Webb's 'tantrum' now apology to the brojos.
I know that's not going to happen - nor should it - but neither should people have been demanding it of letsrun.
Webb is now officially in the 3k today in Washington.
Nice matchup in Heat 6 of the 3k with Webb vs Fernandez vs Chelanga. From what we can tell this should be between 7:50pm eastern and 8:30pm eastern. (An aside: I just got off the phone with a friend of mine and as he said our sport is probably the only one where 3 studs could square off, no one knows about it in advance, no one knows the time it will happen and there is no attempt to get fans in a stadium or entertain them. Fortunately for us who know about it, the meet is being streamed live via flotrack)

Real deep. That's what she said. Should be exciting to watch these bros duke it out. That's also what she said.

When it comes to articulating your thoughts, you don't know which end is up.
Jesus christ that's a great field! Lots of big (AMERICAN) names.
GERMAN WILL TAKE IT.
Wejo, do you have a squad of crack "reporters" hiding behind urinals looking for bad behaviour?
Rumor has it elites are secretly hoping you will offer your counsul, not only on running but life.
Is this first ever German vs Webb showdown? Man would I love to see him beat Webb on this one.
*counsel
You can't tell from the Salazar quotation whether he was saying Webb overreacted after the race or during it.
Dobson will be in the mix, maybe not for the win, but close. He is after all an Olympian.
Here's to hoping someone goes a faster pace than that Kenyan high schooler can go for 5k (that would be 7:43).
Webb should be happy! According to this article...he missed three weeks of training due to the flu and before that a hamstring injury. Considering those circumstances its a hell of a lot better performance than last week. Hopefully he'll be in the upswing from here on out.

of course the kenyan high schooler is probably about 21
i took it as during the race. he was talking about the race. nothing was mentioned about after.
but i do like how we are persuaded to read the context as "AFTER" when they put the link On The Boards.
"Alberto Salazar Says Alan Webb Overreacted After His 4:00 Mile Last Weekend"
when the quote was...
“He’s so competitive,” Salazar said. “He was supposed to sit back at the start of the race and he didn’t. Instead he went for the home run. And when it didn’t play out the way he wanted it to, he overreacted.”
yeah

False.
Webb finished seventh in the race last week and openly regretted making the trip when it was over.
