How do these two compare? durability, etc.
How do these two compare? durability, etc.
I own both. The Streak's a great shoe, but because it's made of mesh it's really, really bad in the cold. Pirahnas are excellent shoes, too, except that there's holes in the bottom that let in water. I guess that might be nice in hot weather.
They're both pretty durable. I'm at about 350 miles on the pirahna and the shoe is starting to get a little wear, but I'm guessing it'll make it to at least 500. The Streak has pretty good traction, for what it's worth.
Haven't run in the Piranha, but the Streak XC2 is really durable for a lightweight shoe..I got 750 miles out of it before I switched to my new pair of XC2..love it really.
Not used the Streak (too heavy), but did try a pair of Piranhas. They were a little bulkier than I am use to and the heel/toe drop is not ideal, but their lightness made them worth a try.
I found them too soft early on, but they got better with age. I resoled them at 1000 miles (taking the opportunity to make the heel/toe drop better) and they are about to hit 1500. Have my second pair ready for when these die - I reckon I have a few hundred more miles in them at least.
They've worked out to be a great pair of shoes! The design of the midsole and outsole is such that itgives them great longevity.
I have several pairs of both uf these. They are both durable.
The Piranha ia about 4.8 ounces in size p and the XC Streak is about 5.5 ounces in size 9.
I feel that I get a better response from the Streaks.
are you sure you didn't mix up the piranha with the hyperspeed 4? the hyperspeed 4 has the drainage holes. look on runningwarehouse pictures
