Who in Saudi Arabia or the UAE do you expect would actually rebel?
Obviously it will be Islam.
Make that Yemen.
Hopefully the U.S.
Looks like the lessons George W. Bush tried to teach are finally being learned. How 'bout that?!
The Saudis hate the royal family. The country is run by a king propped up by the champion of democracy - the USA - who is selling off his country's natural resources below market value. The MOMENT US forces leave Saudi (if they ever do, and that's a big if) the king dies, the royal family dies, all the royal family's relatives die. Who knows what kind of government will replace it, but the overwhelming majority of Saudis do NOT like the royal family or their rule.
^^Above commentary provided by my Saudi friend studying here in the US.
israel incarcerates 6 million semites without due process in nazi death camps for being christian and muslim.
Wondered how long it would take before Uncle B or one of his clones would show up to make it all about Israel.
Must be tough for them to wrap their heads around the fact that it is Arabs who do not have free elections and democratic governments who are protesting and not the Arabs who can not only vote, but get themselves elected to a multi-cultural national parliament.
I think you will see a major bloodbath in Egypt tomorrow. A huge protest is in the works. Mbarak's government may move to crack down and extract a punitive toll try to "restore order".
The dynamic in the Arab states is very interesting. In the 70s and 80s, left leaning opponents of the dictators and monarch were rounded up and brutally put down with backing of the US. The fear was that these groups would be simpathetic to the USSR. The result was that government resistance gravitated to Islamic extremist groups that faced brutal oppression in the late 80s and 1990s. These groups spintered into the major terrorist groups in the Middle East of today (Al Qaeda's no. 2 is Egyptian and was jailed by Egypt's government).
What is interesting about the protests in Egypt is that they are not lead by the Islamists. The muslim brotherhood stayed out of the Egyptian protests. The protests are largely a product of a new youthful leftist movement that can no longer be put down on the basis of being aligned with communism.
My fear is that the Egyptian government will fall to an enthusiastic, but poorly organized youth movement, which will then be coopted and brutally oppressed by the Islamic Right. The Muslim Brotherhood is well organized and could easily emerge as a victor in the fall of Mbarak.
It's a new generation. The grandchildren are here now. The grandchildren of 1940's Palestinian Catastrophe, Nazi Holocaust, Arab Facist Dictators. It's time for a Middle East constitutional convention which will
1. overthrow facist regimes and puppets in the Middle East
2. re-constitute nations such as Kurdistan, Armenia, Chechnya
3. re-unifiy Palestine and Israel into one political state
4. eliminate Sharia Law, Apartheid, Facism for governments
5. establish Human Rights for all religions
6. establish solid democratic instituitions
Thank you for supporting freedom and democracy for the victims of Zionism. Mubarak is a Zionist who is imprisoning 3 miilion Palestinian refuguees in concentration camps. These people must be released and trucked back to Israel to re-claim their stolen homes and farms. It's a desperate situation. Many are dying from starvation and lack of medical care. Humans need their farms and rivers to grow crops and prosper. Mubarak is a terrible tyrant and must be overthrown.
Steve Jobs (an Arab) launched a cyber-attack against Amazon
I agree, over 18 means one vote. The UN should hold elections for a new government under the US Constitution in Israel/Gaza/Palestine/West Bank. Over 18 means one vote.
When the Shah fell Iran could have easily taken a different path but the Islamists rose to power in the chaos. The same will happen in Egypt.

Islam is the voice of the people. Islam will bring Democracy and Freedom to Egypt. Mubarak will be kicked out and escape with his life to Israel.
Yemen is erupting. Algeria. Syria. Lebanon will also. Israel will implode. People are free in their minds, and demand to be free in real life. Internet, Twitter, and Facebook are gifts from America which have enabled this revoultion. Cell phones and Toyota Trucks are gifts from Japanese which have enabled this revolution. American internal Freedom and Democracy is what Islam most admires and desires. American Imperialism and Zionism is what Islam most despises and will do anything to destroy. Yes, America, you have both the worst and the best of what the Middle East wants. This is the American Century after all. It is up to Islam next.

Then we have nothing to worry about. Keep blowing yourselves up in the name of Allah or Gooblygock or anyone else. With any luck they'll be no more Muslim males left in the Middle East. Ya bunch a f***in dumbasses.
That's so anti-Semitic. You must be a Tea Partier.

Over 18 means one vote. The challenge for our generation is to bring full democracy and the US Bill of Rights to Palestine, Israel, and every Arab and Caucasian nation in the Mideast.
