didn't switch from the cumulus, switched from another shoe like it (pegasus). never had any problems beyond calf soreness. use the kinvara's every other day at first. fun shoe!
ya u are going to want to ease into them, also, I am on pair three of my Kinvaras, I love them. But, if you are prone to injuries and are putting in decent mileage 50+ and run on roads, you might want to reconsider. I ran in my first two pairs almost exclusively on the XC course/track. Now that its snowing, the course and/or track are covered, and I've had some problems with being able to put miles without discomfort. I am in the process of switching back to a heavier trainer (Triumph 7s), which I'm not particularly happy about, but Id rather be able to get good miles outside than just treadmill.
Why does everyone always talk about the Kinvara as if it is some miracle shoe? It's a shoe like any other. Personally, I like it, but it seemed to me to break down quicker than a lot of other shoes...

The Kinvara has some great attributes that together seem currently unmatched in the market:
- neutral
- lightweight
- only 4mm drop
- flexible
- plenty cushioned
- not too narrow
