What athlete(s) impressed the most with an incredible negative spilt race? It's happening more and more in marathons but very few incredible negative spilt performances are turned in on the track; therefore, can you recall any negative spilt race that impressed you on the track over 800m?
Two that impressed me
2003 World Championships 10000m
Haile takes over the lead from Mebrahtom Keflezighi around 3000m and passes 5000m in 13:52.3 and forces the pace in an effort to drop Kenenisa Bekele by running the 2nd 5000m in 12:57.8; however, it wasn't enough. Although Kenenisa won the race was greatly impressed by Haile forcing the pace to such a incredible negative spilt:
Haile
13:52.3
12:57.8/26:50.17
Kenenisa
13:52.3
12:57.24/26:49.57
