bump
still too warm in my opinion. i'm from texas but in mew york for college and 30 is still t shirt temperature for me
arm warmers are so nerdy. Just wear a lomg sleeve shirt.
Unbelieveably gay--no respectable guy runner or serious runner would be caught dead in them. Yuppie accessory.
People like you are ignorant. You just don't get it, the reason behind arm warmers. So let me try to educate you--
Unlike long sleeves, arm warmers are much easier to take off during a race, especially if the long sleeve you want to wear is under your singlet (good, respectable runners wear singlets don't they?). Next, if you actually do wear long sleeves, it gets twisted and rises up and becomes very uncomfortable when wearing it under a singlet. If your argument is your a "wimp" because you can't stand the cold-- well, worrying about cold takes away from you mentally and actually being cold takes physical energy from your body to keep your body warm. Both are unnecessary distractions that can hurt your performance.
If you don't like them, your entitled to your opinion. But don't criticize people that do wear them because your an arrogant jackass that can't see other views different than your own.

Where does the anger for arm warmers come from? Who cares if they look gay, its not a f$%n fashion show out there. They are functional and work well when its around 30 or so.
No serious runner would wear them? Are u joking, Tell that to the 3 guys who just ran 29:XX for a road 10k in my hometown. They all wore them
seriously. who give a shit what you look like (because we all look sexy in a long sleeved shirt while running anyway...). i train my ass off to race as fast as i can. when i race, im going to wear what will also maximize my speed. if the weather is in such a way that arm warmers are beneficial of course i'll wear them. any sensible person would.
Any self respecting runner knows you just grab a pair of tube socks if your arms get a little cold. You don't even need a pair of gloves if you do that. It helps if you wear a pair with stripes the color of your "singlet" you are so proudly rocking.
ive never seen anyone do that since the 70's and 80's
arm warmers are cheaper than socks in some cases.
Mr. Mountain, I think "kjniun" is blonde.

Fine, use them during a race and they function well. The OP is talking about just wearing them on an easy 10 or a long run.
Why do people feel the need to wear them? Because they are yuppie accessories and the losers that wear them when it's 40 deg. outside want to make sure that everyone that sees them thinks they're a serious runner, when in actuality they're a complete d-bag.
When did this whole arm warmer thing come about?
Is it mostly for marathoners?
I have never run a marathon so I couldn't comment on the need there.
But I have run in some pretty cold 10K's and wore a T-shirt under a singlet and gloves.
Never thought about about covering my arms.
40 degrees sounds pretty warm to be considering arm warmers.

i have a lot more short sleeve shirts than long sleeve shirts, which makes it easier for me to just wear arm warmers and the shirt i already have on than switching to a long sleeve shirt

yeah i dont think i would wear them for a training run. ive only done it once on a long run, just to try them out before the marathon

Here's a thought. If your arms are cold, maybe you'd be more comfortable with something over them. Do you really need help getting dressed?
I live in SoCal and have developed a huge hate towards arm warmers because everyone wears them here to look cool. I will line up for races in 70 degree weather and these morons or wearing Moeben arm sleeves. I understand if you live somewhere it is cold but here it is all about the look.
It is a lame fashion trend in SoCal and needs to go away. I like the tube sock idea. I think I will do that to make fun of the idiots that wear the sleeves.
Arm warmers are NEVER a good idea. Just grow some balls you little weiner man.
they are only OK for a long race (hour or longer) when it is cold (under 40). never for training runs or short races. and the moeben patterned ones are totally unacceptable for guys in any situation. and cute girls can only wear them if they are wearing nothing else.
