I run 100 percent of my miles in the Lunar Racer 2s. I average 20 miles a day and love them.
Lunarglides are too heavy.
Nikes new line is a ride unparalled with any brand. Its known as the adaptive ride. Each footstep is acounted for rather than having the same block of support for every stride.
Usually on runs people start out more efficiently, over the time of the run they get tired and their form changes, thats when the adaptive support comes into effect.
Basically the more a foot rolls in(pronates) the more support it will receive. If you are running more efficiently(neutral) the shoe won't control your foot until it needs it.
I've loved my pair of LunarGlides, the cushioing product lasts for a long time and the forefoot is flexible, I'll be buying another pair soon.
Looking - straight from the Nike source....
Nike Lunarlon is a 2-part cushioning system that offers a soft but resilient ride in both neutral and stable model options. A soft full-length core foam is contained in a firmer external foam carrier. This construction allows for the use of softer and lighter foams than in industry standard compression molded EVA options.
Lunarlon can be tuned to offer a stable ride with an innovation called Dynamic Support which is built into the core/carrier midsole. Stable models include LunarEclipse (most stable Lunar option), LunarGlide 2 (moderate stability), LunarSwift (moderate stability), Lunar Elite (min/moderate stability) and Lunar Fly (lower end of stability spectrum and almost neutral)
Lunaracer (6.5 oz) is currently the most neutral option using the Lunarlon system and is most appropriate for longer distance racing and tempo runs.
The differences you'll notice from other NIke Running options are both visual and what you feel in the ride. Lunar models feel soft at impact but have a certain spring to them so they don't feel like marshmallows.
