Looking for a trainer with minimal heel to toe drop and as little hard plastic/rubber in the sole as possible. Basically I want the Hyperspeed but with more cushion. Any ideas?

I was looking for the same thing, but the Kinvara didn't work for me. Now I just take 4-8 (depending on my terrain for the day) flat spenco inserts and attach them to my feet with athletic tape. I tried duct tape first (it did last better on longer runs) but it tended to be a bit slippery.
If you're serious, I would say that sounds like a poor solution.
I run all of my miles in the Lunar Racer 2s. Great should with lots of cushioning.
