chelsey committed to stanford tonight!
No 4 year running camp for Svennison ;-)
Is she running this fall?
It will be awesome to see her race Hasay, as well as her future teammate Kroeger. Also, they're program will really be strong with Kroeger, Tonn, Dunne, Sveinsson, and I'm sure they'll get some more strong recruits.
I'd heard that she was back to training and going to run FL South and FL Nats, but I heard more recently that her coaches were thinking of not having her compete at all this fall. Anyone know?
Must be nice to be a prima Donna never run
a full season. And still pull this off.
Why should anyone focusing on year-end national championships have to run a full season?
Wow, after Stanford's awesome Pac-10 win, this just adds to it! It will be pretty awesome to see Hasay, Kroeger, Sveinsson, Goethals all in the same conference duking it out. What about runners like Aisling Cuffe and Molly Gabrill and Catrina MacAlister? These runners are huge recruits as well.
Agreed, assuming Goethals gets over whatever is happening with her right now.
Grabill visited Washington and Oregon that I know of...my guess for her is Oregon.
Cuffe is tough to judge...she visited Duke, Villanova, and Stanford so far...I could really see her going to any of those three. It would be AWESOME to have her at Stanford with Kroeger, Tonn, Sveinsson and co.
No problem why doesn't she just go straight pro? Never ran district
region or state. Didn't have to. Mommy/coach hand pick high publicity races. She has talent but comparing her to Hassay is a joke. She ran for a school with a hs coach. Greenhill WTF is that?
Um her private school doesn't compete in the state meet. She has a league meet and always runs it (when healthy). When you're at the level, you have to travel to find competition and get into high profile races.
She ran a 4:40 mile and 10:04 two mile at Nike Outdoor Nationals as a sophomore, breaking the class records of Nicole Blood and Jordan Hasay. She also ran a 4:18 1500 in her first try at the distance, won Footlocker South, and basically tied for first at FL Nats (.2 behind Goethals). She has accomplished all of this on 30 miles per week. She has so much talent and potential and will rip up the record books this spring and in college!
Damn, C S tuned down a 4 year vacation at Lane Community College (aka Oregon Honors College) ?

She is a senior, that 4:40 and 10:04 weekend is still the best she has done, what has she done lately?
How long can she live off the past?

Wow. Talk about jealous of someone else's success. I was tell people if they are being criticized on here to consider it a good thing because you only get criticized if you are actually someone others have heard of.
As someone else pointed out Greenhill is a private school. They don't compete in region, districts or states. That's how it works in Texas.
Sveinsson has been injured this year:
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/highschools/topstories/stories/090210dnspohscrosscountry.26b811d.htmlThere's two private school associations in TX. TAPPS and SPA or something like that. TAPPS is pretty big, but the other, which Greenhill is in, is pretty small. So she competes in meets for her school at that level - when she's healthy and racing - but has no competition.
Kinda ironic she picks Stanford, given her sacral stress fracture and Stanford's history of girls with sacral stress fractures.
Nobody is jealous. She is heads and shoulders above girls from Texas. Whoopty do private school. By choice. She doesn't run district region or state, handpicks races and is still hurt. Get that?

It would be more awesome'er with Cuffe at Villanova.

Are you this much of an asshole when you talk to actual teenager, or do you only dare to be judgmental anonymously on the internet?
Under Dunn? I don't think so...

Annie St. Geme, Ari Lambi, and I believe Laura Centrowitz are three recent examples. All 3 coached by Dunn, yes? Maybe more.
