I am a midfoot runner, I supinate, and I need arch support.
Over the summer I went to a runners store in New Jersey that records your stride to determine what kind of shoe you need. Even though I'm a forefoot/midfoot runner that supinates the bossy saleswoman demanded that I buy a support shoe because my ankles need support. I didn't really understand this because I thought it would increase the chances of rolling my ankle. I finally conceded to her opinion because my mom thought this woman knew best. After running for a few weeks on the shoes at college, both my ankles are aching and one is swollen and possibly sprained. I concluded that I need a neutral shoe but I still need a shoe that offers good arch support for a midfoot runner.
Thanks a lot, any help would be appreciated
