I got the Mizuno 'Wave precision ten' sometime around March 2010. I had called around to 3 or 4 running shoe shops, and they all told me the same thing: they didn't carry that model, and instead recommended the 'wave rider' because the Wave Precision would wear out too fast. But I wanted that model, so I wound up buying them online.
I don't keep close track of my mileage, but I always do at least 50 mi/wk. I figure I put at least 1600 miles on them, actually prolly quite a bit more. I run almost all of my miles on dirt, grass, or treadmill.
Now I'm breaking in a new pair (same model) because I have a marathon coming up. However, I do not plan to retire the old pair quite yet. They're still perfectly good as far as I'm concerned. The cushioning in the forefoot is gone, of course, but otherwise they're fine.
What's the most miles you have racked up? Am I risking imminent injury? The mags say to change shoes after 400 miles, and the running shops claimed that these wouldn't even do that.
