Looking for any research or studies on the time differences between track spikes and trainers. Information on any race distance (60m - 10K) would be helpful. Also, information on emg studies pertaining to spikes vs trainers/flats would be useful.

I don't know of any studies that have been done, and even if they have, the results would be virtually meaningless due to the small effect (statistically insignificant I'm sure) spikes vs trainers have on performance the variable performance of an athlete on any given day, and the probably small sample size.
I think it is common belief that spikes take off ~1s/lap, but this is a huge generalization as it's going to vary runner to runner and distance to distance (light spikes/flats may actually hurt performance in long distance races such as half and full marathons).
I don't think there's really any practical way of knowing how much spikes help, nor is it really that important to know precisely.
