No, Kobe will not. And it's "Capital." Capitol is a building.
The Lakers will Three-Peat the Three-Peat in 2009-2010-2011.
Kobe is the greatest sports player in the history of mankind !
2/10.
Nearly everyone agrees Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever.
don't joke around.
that was the old days before physical conditioning and real-time computer tracking of players by nba teams.
kobe has to play against 5 players plus the supercomputer software programs written by dozens of Ph.D scientists.
there's no comparison to the level of play today and the old nba.
plus that jordan played when the nba added 4 teams as was weak then. no team had more than 2 super stars but the lakers in the 1980-1990 due to expansion.
I'm not a kobe fan, but a legitimate argument could be made for him being the greatest of all time if the lakers do manage to pull off a three peat this year.
6 championships would put him on par with Jordan, and the last 3 were with an inferior supporting cast (only when compared to Jordan's obviously).
Jordan might have been a better athelete than kobe, but in terms of pure basketball skill Kobe is leading the argument for best ever.

a better athlete? define "athlete." jordan had more muscle mass... a higher vertical, but aren't basketball skills included in whatever your overall degree of athleticism is? we are talking basketball. i don't think there's a fair way to compare kobe and jordan. kobe has a much better jumper, no doubt about that. he makes them from the bench.
Kobe is the Greatest of all Time. There's no other name worth mentioning.
It's just too bad that Kobe plays in a pitiful excuse for a city (LA). He'd be America's player if he were in Boston, Chicago, NY, or Miami...instead he wastes his talen in that cesspool in Southern California.
As long as Kobe and his teammates keep shooting about 10,000 more FT's per game than the other team, he should do just fine.
Los Angeles is the most visible City in the World. Being in Los Angeles made Kobe.
Who cares?
the greatest basketball player in WHAT?
The greatest ever? are you kidding? This is a joke right?
He's not even top 5. He would barely squeak in my top 10. Maybe. He wouldn't have any rings without O'neal, or Gasol. He's been pretty much surrounded by other superstars when he won. O'neal, Malone, Gasol, Odom, Artest....All these players have been all starts, Dream teamers, Olympians, and will be future hall of famers. Jordan had Pippen and no one else. What happened when O'Neal left? Bryant and the lakers struggled to even be the 8th seed in the playoffs. Then they bring in Gasol and boom they become Champs again. To talk about Bryant as the best ever is disrespecting the game. The following are easily ahead of Bryant in the best ever departmet.
Jordan, Magic, Bird, Abdul Jabar, Chamberlain, Bill Russel, Dr. J, and I would say that Lebron James may have already overtaken Bryant and if not he will very soon. James is already the best player in the NBA he just need a few championships to be considered in the top 5.
Kobe made all those names who played on the Lakers, world champs. The Olys aren't shit to the NBA. The ancient no-tech NBA doesn't count, and players ancient days wouldn't make the starting lineup of today's teams. Kobe is the greatest basketball player in history. Your sour grapes prove it !
Why does everyone forget that Kobe Bryant RAPED A GIRL?

Kobe Bryant is probably the greatest NBA player that was a rapist of all time. I'll give you that.
No the miami heat not only have the trio we've all heard about but they've also got 3point assasin Mike Miller, whom I believe ranked 2nd or 3rd in the nba in 3 pointer attempts made. If the trio gets doubleteamed all they have to do is kick it out to Mike Miller who will probably be wide open a lot this year
