Has anyone run in the Streak III? I've used the Streak XC for years, and it's worked really well for me. Are the shoes similar?
Thanks for your help.

Not really. The Streak XC 2, however, is very similar.
I cannot stand the Streak III. What a waste of 80 bucks. The mesh upper stretches too much at the point of foot strike. The cushioning is much less than the Streak XC2. I have no idea what the shoe designers were thinking. They just plain don't feel right.
I found a pair of Brooks T6 here in Bangkok in my size on a 50% off sale (actually the T6 are a half-size too small so you should get a half-size bigger than normal) and I really like them. I plan on wearing them in a marathon soon.

Streak XC 3 is quite a bit different than 2. Pretty much a complete redo, besides the fact that it is still a flat. I like the 3 better myself (lighter, more breathable upper, slightly better traction?, snugger fit, just a good feel). Have gone through three pairs of each other the past couple of years.
One other shoe I have user, that felt closer to the XC 2, is the Saucony A3 (now 4 I think).
The Streak 3 and Streak XC 2 are entirely different shoes. The Streak 3 is a marathon flat, Streak XC 2 is (shockingly) a shoe designed for XC surfaces.
I tried on the Steak 3, and the upper was the worst fitting upper I've ever seen. The Marathoner also fit kind of odd.
Try out the Mizuno Ronin 2...The Ronin 3 will be out I think in January. Outstanding distance road flat.
the Nike Zoom Marathoners are awesome looking - perhaps great partying/clubbing shoes but they seem kinda overly stiff to me
i really like the Brooks T6 Racers for half marathon and marathon
and the Nike Zoom Streak XC2 for shorter road races
If anybody wants my US 10.5 Streak 3's, let me know. $30 bucks takes them, and I will include shipping. I've only run in them 3 or 4 times, but one time was in the rain.
The Streak XC2 is an awesome shoe. Some Nike sponsored athletes run it also at road races. Fantastic grip on wet streets. Much better shoe than the Streak3.
