Not cheating, just not ethical.
You're right. I shouldn't use the term cheating...unethical and immoral is better.
Agreed, how did him taking money make him a better basketball player? He's right anyway. The fact that millions of dollars are made from these athletes without them sniffing a cent is absurd.

Have you checked the value of the scholarship? What about the value of the coaching they receive?
It was well-known that Salaza, Cruz and orthers were being paid while at Oregon.
Isn't it a well known fact that Chuck wasn't exactly at Auburn for the schooling? He's talked about this a million times before. I believe he said something like, "Hey, it's the SEC. If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying."

What is the value of the scholarship? Should we just accept it as the value the University assigns to it? Or is it the actual amount it costs Auburn University to add one more kid to a student body of 25,000?
That's turrible

it's not even slightly immoral. he wasn't stealing from anyone. even if he lied about it it didn't hurt anyone. everyone lies.
WHo on the adult who gave him money? or the 18 yr old poor kid? Thats what colleges do dude! it is thier lively hood(college) so they need to get the best recruits for basketball and football so that sports like T&F and XC can exist!
What is the root cause of colleges taking on the role of athlete development?
We need seperation of school and sport
Of course Barkley was getting a little under the table cash. Triple cheeseburgers aren't free even for the star of the basketball team.
