Moorcroft? 13:00 5000
oh wait, Josephat Menjo probably has the best solo 5k and 10k - 12:55 and 26:56
Ryun's 3:51?
Bayi 1500m WR 3:32.2
apparently coe's 3:31.9 was solo (from another thread)

nah was paced by Jimmy Robinson
I think Coe's 1.42.4 was gun to tape.

nah was paced to 400m
Steve Jones after his 2:07 at chicago for a WR time was gun to tape. Man drank 8 pints of hard cider the night before too... beast
Bekele ran the second 5000 m of his 10,000 m WR all by himself in 13:07.
Kipketer's 1:42.68 indoor WR.
-Wanjiru, Beijing 2008
-Anything from Pre
yes. Wanjiru Beijing 2008.
So we have:
800: 1:42,68i Kipketer
1500: 3:32,2 Bayi
mile: 3:51,1 Ryun
5000: 12:55,95 Menjo
10000: 26:56,74 Menjo
Marathon: 2:06:32 Wanjiru
Wanjiru didn't lead the whole way.
For Steeplechase, it's probably Paul Koech in a time in the low 8's. I don't know if anyone has a recollection of him racing one without rabbits, but I know it has happened.

And the topic is....
What are the fastest ever gun to tape runs from 800m to marathon?

What race did Wanjiru lead start to finish?
Wanjiru did lead a good part of marathon but he was not alone. I think when Jones won in Chicago there was a couple of college kids that ran first few miles with him after that he was all alone.
