High tech? It's just the "wet test" that runner's world has such a hard on for:

So it then recommends one of just 14 products for you. If I had to guess, I'd say they were high, medium, and low arch in small, medium, large, and XL foot sizes. Maybe the other way around. Even if you believe in motion control and support as a solution to foot and leg injuries, the current thinking on that path requires a 3d model of the foot, this can only do 2D + pressure, which is not a very good approximation of the third dimension.
Yeah, real genius.
The science is increasingly showing that all this support, and motion control and cushioning is garbage, and is likely *causing* injury. Science is currently on the side of the barefoot running crowd. I'd love to see some more data though. Not enough well thought out real studies with large sampling sizes yet.
