Those aren't any Karhu I have ever seen. Karhu's emblem is a M shape, not what is pictured. Unless the have to use a different logo in Japan.
FWIW, the girl in the unknown shoes is wearing Mizuno clothing, but I do not recognize the shoe at all. I wish I could see the outside of the shoe.

Just because the heal may touch first, doesn't mean that that is where most of the impact is.
Just sayin
Huh, funny to see this turn up here. I took this picture on Saturday. Ayumi Nakayama, the woman in the center, is wearing custom handmade Mimura shoes. Hitoshi Mimura was the genius behind Asics' elite shoes for a long, long time. He quit a year or two ago to start his own independent company, Mimura, which many Japanese elites who came to him for Asics shoes now wear. He signed a contract last year, I think, to start working for Adidas but he seems to still be producing the Mimura ones.

Here's a better view:

Interesting to see mixed sponsorship like that. Asics shoes, mizuno uniforms. Don't see that much here, not amongst sponsored athletes anyways.
A maker will often sponsor a corporate team's uniforms, in this case Mizuno sponsorship for the Yamada Denki women's team, while the runners have individual/no shoe sponsorship. In the picture the OP linked the woman on the left is actually wearing Nike shorts while the one on the right is wearing Asics shorts. Only Nakayama was wearing the full Mizuno outfit because it was her workout (30 km tempo). The others were pacers and dressed more casually.
Elite runners should NEVER let the heel hit first. This is basic knowledge.

By all means, go tell the coach. I'm sure he'd be glad to receive your wisdom.

I forgot about the corporate sponsorship culture in Japan. Interesting that companies like mizuno or asics don't put the athletes head to toe in their gear. Even smallish club teams in the states would have a hard time swinging multiple overlapping sponsorships. I wonder how the corporations work that out.
