A great meet. Start lists here:

1500 may be the best of the year. It has Kiprop, Silas Kiplagat (the dude who ran 3:29 in his first European race eveR), Choge, Komen and Kamel.

And Manzano in another 800m. Sub 1:44, or has he maxed out already?

99 men in history have gone sub 1:44 for 800, so if manzano does it he could be the 100th.
If Manzano stays in the B heat, I think he'll be hard-pressed to run under his PB. He goes out slow, and in a B heat there's likely to be a bunch of traffic in front of him with a bunch of slower guys positive splitting and making him run a lot of extra distance.
Anyone else notice this...

Yeah, the talk is that she and Ryan have had their Canadian citizenship paperwork quietly going through the pipeline for some time now. This way they can both become national record holders.
While the 1500m might be the best of the year, for US fans - the 3000m is looking quite tasty.
Look at this:
BIRMINGHAM Collis AUS
FERNANDEZ Alvaro ESP
BEKELE Tariku ETH
TAHRI Bouabdellah (7:33.18 in 2009) FRA
MEUCCI Daniele (Token host country runner who is much slower) ITA
BIWOTT Yusuf Kibet (7:31.68 in 2010) KEN
KIPCHOGE Eliud KEN
LONGOSIWA Thomas Pkemei (7:30.09 in 2009, 7:33 in 2010) KEN
SIMOTWO Suleiman (7:40.26 in 2010) KEN
SOI Edwin Cheruiyot (7:31.48 in Rieti 2009) KEN
SONGOK Isaac Kiprono (7:28.32 in '06) KEN
BLINCOE Adrian NZL
RASHED Essa Ismail (13:08.02 in 2008) QAT
KIPROP Boniface Toroitich (26.39.77 in 2006 but fairly slow now) UGA
LEBED Sergey UKR
HULING Dan USA
LAGAT Bernard USA
RUPP Galen USA
SOLINSKY Chris USA
Two names that will help Solinsky's or Lagat's chances at AR: Bekele, Kipchoge.
Not sure what to make of Dan Huling. You can bet Lagat and Chris have one thing on their mind: AR. Last time a distance AR was broken, incidentally, both of them were in the race.
Five in the "A" heat and eleven in the "B". Wouldn't it make sense to split it and take the fastest three in the "B"?

You'd think...My speculation is that the meet director is trying to keep that heat very small and exclusive to keep the spotlight firmly on Rudisha's WR attempt. I doubt Rudisha's camp would be concerned about traffic from the slow-starting Manzano or Symmonds. If he ran at all like he did in Berlin, the guys in the back of the field would be of no concern as they're participating in a different race entirely. If it came from Rudisha's camp maybe he's considering a slower first lap(mid 49) and wants less traffic. That seems kind of far-fetched, so I think it's the meet director's call.

Manzano on the 1500 start list for Brussels.
Hopefully he decides on that instead.
Manzano has had some really good performances lately, it's time for a 3:47 1500 bomb, thereby leaving him hungry for another 800 PR Sunday.
I wonder if Bekele has his eyes on the WR? Otherwise why race the 3k again?

why not both?
the last 2 meets of his season then 6-8 months to recover and get ready for next year.

Much as I'd love to see that, the WR is 7:20, a staggering run and greater than a second per lap faster. He'd at the very least need much better pacemakers and serious ambition and faith in himself. More likely he'd love to take down his brother's PB or just pick another payday while he is running so well. If he just wants to go through the motions, that would be odd because there is still the World Athletic Final where he could run either the 3K/5K or both.
By the way, if you forget how ridiculously good KB's 7:25 was, watch this:

uhh....money?
Entries are updated:
Symmonds, Casado, Rimmer added to the 800 A race. Manzano no longer entered. Now, there are 8 guys in the A heat, and it seems like the meet director got his head straight.
Actually, pacemakers blew it for him early. He made a great run for it after the fact but it was too late.
In a moderate surprise Rupp takes the 3000 AR.
Sub 7:40 would cap off his season
