soft as always.
More straightforward, less gimmicky than recent incarnations. More like a beefed-up version of short-lived Start, a shoe I loved for low profile, responsive but not excessive cushioning. No high, narrow heel to necessitate orthopedic anti-pronation technology.
Too wide and heavy for me. Not responsive at all. They need to go back and make em like they did back in the 80s.
I work at a running store in MD, and I think the Pegasus 27 is a great update. It did lose some responsiveness and added some 'bulkiness,' though not necessarily weight. I used it as a training shoe for most of the summer and got about 450 miles out of it, and I am now using the same shoe. It definitely feels like more of a marathon training shoe than it has in the past.
It is 11 ounces, which is the same weight as the Brooks Ghost, a very similar shoe (used to be more of a lightweight trainer, now they have added some cushion and weight to it to give it a more durable feel). If you prefer a more responsive, less soft, and lower profile shoe, I would go with the Ghost.
not a huge fan and I have worn the pegasus for 6 years now. I'm not really sure how to describe it, but they feel more soft/bulky (although not necessarily heavier).
