I just reviewed a thread where there was updates from the London thread. As usual the folks that comment on the race talked about the fastest white american runner in the race and discussed how she did.. Molly Huddle finished 9th.. FYI one of the posters was wejo.
Then they mentioned the non-white runner who won the race and stopped here.
Sally, has been running the US college system for so long and has roots here... i wonder if she will ever get any love
any word on her becoming a us citizen? or was that just a rumor. great run. and way to tough it out by huddle and fleshman as well
Because this is a website based in America, run by Americans and who's biggest demographic is Americans, and Molly Huddle is an American and Sally Kipyego is not an American.
I thought that should be pretty obvious to everyone but I guess some people don't get the obvious and would rather come up with racist conspiracy stories.
Because she's a girl. If I enjoyed watching blistering 14 min 5ks, I'd drive to the local all-comers meet every Wednesday.
Even then she's still a C-team Kenyan..

Given that it just happened 45 minutes ago, and the results are not up on any thread I've seen yet. and given that it is midday and losers like you and me are looking at a board that probably wont come to life for another couple of hours, i think your comments are a bit premature to be this uptight.

Sally's performance is a fine one. I think it should be applauded. A true world class time.
But whatever she accomplishes on the track, I think it pales in comparison to her fabulous accomplishment in securing a nursing degree (while running at a highly competitive level). And the degree was hard earned, starting at South Plains College, with completion at Texas Tech. And her motivation to help others, borne from desperate circumstances, is admirable. The press descriptions of her reaction upon receiving admission to nursing school just sings of joy, and I can only imagine how she felt on graduating in 2009.
Pretty easy to be a fan of Sally Kipyego in my view.

Agreed. How about a listing of results.
...because she is very low key and unassuming despite her enormous talent.
I can't say for sure, but I don't think Sally toots her own horn via blogs, tweets, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but she seems to quietly go out and put in work.
If you compare the race between her and Huddle at Mt SAC vs. today you can see that Sally still remains a notch above. She went to the front early in today's race and held on when the pace quickened. Nobody can touch Dibaba, but that shouldn't take away from Kipyego's solid run.
Huddle is cute.
GO SALLY! I ran with her at Tech and she's flat out an awesome person.
