Weren't the white ones with pinkish/orangish trim the originals?
I'm not challenging, I'm just trying to reach back and remember.
Love the name by the way.
I guess I could be mistaken. But when I got these they were just called "Zoom Eldoret" so I thought they were the original design if not the original color.
I was just trying to differentiate between these and the Eldoret II that came out recently.
Re. the name, thanks. I've been out of running for a few years and have been trying to get back into it this summer, so I thought it was fitting.
I ran cross country and track in college and these were the model I wore. I wish these were 10.5's and I would buy them. Great shoe, never had any ankle or shin issues with them like a lot of my teammates who wore Nike.
That is correct - the originals were white with a pinkish/orange trim. These red/yellow ones came out afterward.
The shoe is the same, the color is different.
If I am not mistaken, these came out around 1995 and weighed 6.2oz in men's size 9.
So, we're both right?
I got these as a high school freshman in 1999. I don't mean to mislead anyone. They actually were billed as "Zoom Eldoret" and to this day are the best distance spikes I have ever owned. The spike plate is nearly identical to the Puma Harambee I used, but the upper is much more comfortable, as far as I am concerned anyway.
a pair of originals, reddish pink and white w/black swoosh, sold for $200 a few years ago. Used. Good luck

Tbe original white-orange/pink came out in 1997. This version came out the next year.
What is the reserve price?
I graduated high school in '96. People on my team had Eldorets then. I got a pair of Zoom Shifts (white, purple, black, later to come out in bright yellow/purple) in '96 and they were out the same time as the Eldorets.
For the '96 Olympics, the original not-available-in-stores Jasari was around. If you look on the first edition of Daniels running book, Bob Kennedy is wearing a shoe that has the upper of a Jasari and the lower of the Eldoret, which is what Nike was giving the US athletes. The Jasari came out after that (1996?), but with a different lower.
The Harambee came out in 1998 I think. It was a complete rip-off of the Eldoret (lower) and Jasari (upper). I got a pair from lightningspeed.com back when Brad Herbster owned that online store, and they were awesome.
You are absolutely right about the Harambee, which is probably my second favorite spike after these Eldorets. The Harambee spike plate is nearly identical to the Eldoret.
9.5 is a little on the small side for most people, but I hope someone can use them. I definitely would have worn them a lot more if I didn't outgrow them after one season.
The reserve is set at $40, but $200 would be nice.
Would you be willing to ship these to the UK?
It usually costs between 13-20 dollars (which of course would be borne by the buyer).
size 11.5 Ethiopian color New without box for sale also
email me if you want pictures or interested.
i remember seeing the original red eldoret and purplish shift for the first time on the desk of one of the designers, tom carlio....at the time, these were some of the sweetest spikes i had ever seen...
Bun In Japan, I would be willing to ship to the UK as long as you pick up any additional shipping cost.
Just send me a message if you win the auction.
The midsole must have broken down a little bit (even from little running). These shoes are over 10 years old! Good luck getting a full season of races out of them, before the vinyl starts cracking and the midsole is completely compressed.
I wish my size 9 pink/white/black Eldorets still fit. They were magic shoes. Still sitting in the closet at my parent's house....
Thanks for the reply OaFR!
No Problem.
Thanks for the bid.
